Building History: The Story of the Tweedt Family Home in Idyllwild, California

This is the documentary on the house and it’s origins. It begins with a brief history of the Tweedt Family’s roots in Idyllwild, and leads to the decision to hire architect Dennis McGuire, the replacement of EL JAMAR, and the construction of the new home, now known as “Glowing Lantern.” The house is shown in all of it’s glory, with insights from Terry and Carol Tweedt, as well as the architect, Dennis McGuire.

This film premiered at the Idyllwild Theater on Saturday, October 11, 2014, as a surprise for Terry Tweedt’s 70th birthday. Unbeknownst to him, many friends and family drove to Idyllwild, and were waiting for him in the lobby of the theater as a surprise to help give him a memorable birthday.
